...when the supermarkets start advertising Christmas Cake.

Pre-order yours today! It's not Christmas without sponge cake. @_@

This week has been pretty uneventful. The second-year students were gone all week on their class trip to Hokkaido and won't be back until Tuesday. The third-year students have started working on their skit project. Several of them are doing their own versions of fairytales. One particularly interesting interpretation of Snow White includes the princess being described as having "skin as white as snow, lips as red as an apple...and a pitch black heart." I'm looking forward to seeing how they carry that off.

I've been spending most of my spare time leveling Snowbunny, and I finally got her up to level 60 tonight. In this picture, she sits proudly on her new epic mount. (Don't laugh...that mechanical chicken cost me 900 gold pieces.)

Other than that...there hasn't been much. I'm going to have to start stocking up on candy soon to hand out for Halloween (at school, not at my apartment...no one trick-or-treats here). I hope they're still selling the chestnut-flavored KitKats. Those are really good.

Grats on the mount! I have a white version of that (can't tell if yours is white or not).

Thanks! Yes, it is white. (I picked it to match her hair...)

I got a great shot of her last night standing on an outcropping in Azshara with the sunrise in the background. I really enjoy the detailed graphics in the game.

That's one cool chicken. No running from the sky, that one.

How do KitKats taste chesnut-ty? Over here they're pushing Cappuccino-flavored ones at us. & for some insane reason, they're featuring a unicorn in the advertisements for it. I haven't tried it yet. ^^;;

I like them. They're white chocolate, though, rather than regular chocolate.

I took a quick look at the product page, and it appears that they're putting out a special pumpkin flavor in honor of Halloween. I'll have to try that...

Wowee! Snowbunny is at level 60! And an epic mount. Really nice.

Congratulations!

We're stocking up on candy, too. I was surprised to discover how many people don't care for chocolate. When I give them a choice, it's about 50 - 50 for chocolate or non-chocolate. Now I make sure to get some things not chocolate.

Thank you!

I think it is a good idea to have other options. The first year, I had a bunch of different kinds of candy, but the students mostly picked the KitKats (because they were bigger). The second year, I bought only KitKats. That seemed to go over okay, but then again I don't know if the students would rather have had more choices.

Kit-Kats

Hi Amparo,

I just found your website. Interesting note about Kit-Kats. It reminds me of my teaching days in Japan when I copied Kit-Kat wrappers (the kids weren't allowed to have real candy in some of the Moriyama elem. schools) at 7-Eleven and cut them out as "candy" in Halloween demonstrations. What a hoot. I believe I was the first English sen-sei to dress up and get into the "act" of Halloween back in 2001.

Hope you're still enjoying wonderful Japan.

Wow, what a great idea. That sounds like fun.

I haven't dressed up yet, but I think I might this year. The library staff is planning on throwing a Halloween party, so that would probably be a good day to do it.

Do you have to buy Snowbunny different outfits, too? (Or is that another character in your WoW icon?)

As you gain higher levels, you get to use higher-level clothing and armor that makes you more powerful. Every piece looks different when you wear it. (In fact, there are a lot of people who choose what gear to wear based on how it looks.) It is the same character, but about 45 levels later. ^_^

Sorry, but I still had to laugh at the mechanical chicken. Especially since those are the words you used to describe it. Or is that what it's really called? I guess that in and of itself is hilarious.

Technically, it's a "mechanostrider."

But we all know it's just a big chicken.
