Um, my apartment isn't THAT big...

Usually only about two or three students have ever shown up to English club meetings. We've gotten up to maybe six or so when planning a big event. I didn't think there'd be much of a problem fitting them in my apartment on Monday.

At today's meeting, TEN students showed up--and all freshmen. So that's not even counting any upperclass members. Yikes. If I can't squeeze everyone in the living room, I may have to clear out the craft room a bit and let them use that.

We had agreed that today's meeting would be for playing a game, so I brought a couple options. They voted on charades, so we did that for over an hour. They did really well, though I purposely used a set of simple words. Several of them commented at the end that they had fun. ^_^

You have such great ideas. Could you list some of the words you used? Were they names of books, movies, etc.? It seems as though that would be so culturally bound that it would be impossible. Or was it more like verbs that could be acted out?

What are the rules for charades, again? Are there two teams and does only one team get to guess at a time?

Oh, just give the whole bit, please.

Could you list some of the words you used?

They were all simple nouns. You know, "book, table, school, tree" that kind of thing. (In fact they were the same words I use for Apples to Apples.)

What are the rules for charades, again? Are there two teams and does only one team get to guess at a time?

I tried it that way, with a one minute time limit, but I wound up changing the rules so that both teams could guess and whichever guessed correctly first got the point.
