Tanto Cuore: Oktoberfest Edition (Note: Probably NSFW)
Status: Funded
This anime-style maid-themed deckbuilder gets good reviews from those who have played it--including women. Some people have even said they like it better than Dominion. On the other hand, others are turned off by the art and theme. My opinion is that I already own so many deckbuilders, I don't need to spend a couple hundred dollars on a new one. (....Until they come out with a BL version...)
Bomb Squad
Status: 74% funded
This cooperative game is essentially Hanabi with a different theme and a timer. Players are attempting to play cards to program a robot to defuse bombs and rescue hostages, but each player must face the cards outward so that only the other players can see them. This must all be done real-time before the bombs explode. While I think it's interesting that they gave Hanabi (a very abstract game) a more realistic theme, the real-time aspect seems that it would be far too stressful, particularly since (according to the theme) people will die if the players fail.

I think the real-time aspect is the only thing that makes Bomb Squad at all different from Hanabi. I like long games with lots of waffling and chatter, so it's not for me, but I suppose for players who want the excitement of rapid gameplay, it's a great mechanic that really enforces the theme.
