Just the facts, Ma'am

CBP maintains a number of fact sheets on its website to provide information to the public about what it does. It was recently brought to my attention that the explanation of the canine program on the Agriculture fact sheet (direct link) is illustrated by an action shot of yours truly, with my partner Benny, as we search a passenger's baby stroller. (The beagles LOVE baby strollers. They generally have lots of food.)
Aside from that, not much has been going on around here this week, other than a heat wave. In an area where temperatures generally never get higher than the 80s, it actually topped 100°F. I'm definitely going to have to make a note of that when I write up my variety trial results for this season.

Wow, opposite of our summer! I think we've only had a day or two that it got to 90. It's not even going to be 70 today.

Date: 2014-07-29 04:04 am (UTC)The photographer was one of my co-workers, who followed me around while I worked the flight. He got an awesome action shot of Benny leaping high in the air to point out a banana, which I use as my desktop image at work. (It's a touch too blurry to use as a PR shot, though.)
I wouldn't be surprised to see it reused a lot.
Actually, it would be used more if it didn't show the passengers. The organization is generally wary of using people's images without permission.

Date: 2014-07-29 03:30 pm (UTC)We are also having a cooler than normal summer here - lots of rain (but also lots of sun, which is good) and I've barely had to turn the air conditioners on apart from a few days. I won't complain, since I've been trying (with only mixed success) to get real work done.
