I'm posting this a day early so that people might have a chance to get an early bird slot (though they're going fast).

Game I Backed:
Fresco Big Box
Status: Funded

Fresco is a simultaneous action selection game in which players buy different colored paints and combine them to "paint" a cathedral for points. This kickstarter is for distribution of the base game and 10 expansion modules. I already own the base game (which comes with the first three expansions) and I think it's a lot of fun. This is cheaper than buying all the expansions separately.

Game I Viewed:
Kingdom
Status: 32% funded

This is a two player strategic battle card game. I looked at it because the concept sounded interesting, but it irks me that it pits good against evil--which means one player is good and the other is evil. I don't think it's fair to make one person have to be evil. Also, I rarely get the chance for two-player games anyway.

Super thoughtful! Though I, of course, am not pledging a competitive multiplayer game. (I am the weirdest game player ever.)

Some people LIKE to play evil.

I'm feeling some pretty serious burn-out from Kickstarter and buying too many games, so I'm only going to try avoiding pledging for anything that's not really limited and/or really amazing. Campaigns like the one from Queen Games are basically just pre-orders, so I don't feel pressured to get it right this second.

Then perhaps it's a good game for those people, if they can find opponents who want to play the angels.

The way I look at it, this is something I would buy anyway, so whether I back it on Kickstarter or order it later via online game shop, it's all the same. At least this way I get the early bird price (which have now all been claimed) and shipping is included. If it were a game I didn't know anything about and I wasn't sure whether I would like it, I would totally agree with you.

I'm actually tempted by the Via Appia bundle - that's like getting the big box for $60 plus Via Appia for $30! I was a little sad that I decided against adding Via Appia in one of the previous Kickstarter campaigns. But that's not limited, so I'm not pulling the trigger on it just yet.
