Please let me know if I need to make corrections. I'm sure there was at least one day when I forgot to write down tablet games.

It's sad that I don't remember who won any of our Ascension games, but Sara creamed us in the Jan 2 Carcassonne game. Was that also when we finished our two player game? You won that one, for sure.

I'm glad you found something to buy on your trip to Tachikawa, though it's too bad they didn't have the Machikoro expansion for you.

[livejournal.com profile] mangaroo won the first one by a large margin. I think she and I tied the second one, because I remember we talked about what the tiebreaker was.

I didn't actually buy anything in Tachikawa. However, as I was browsing through a bookstore (killing time waiting for the game store to open) I discovered a new shoujo manga series that looked interesting. When I got back to Ikebukuro, I stopped by a couple stores before going to the apartment and managed to pick up #2 used, so at least that's something.

It was actually a good thing I found it, because when I was checking in at the airport (and they were weighing my bags), the airline ladies were all asking me what kind of manga I was bringing back. Luckily, I had that shoujo volume right on the top of the stack that I could pull out and show them.

I bought the game after leaving Tachikawa and visiting Akihabara again. I read through the rules while suffering jetlag last night, and it looks pretty interesting. Though the rules are in Japanese, the cards are all in English, so I think it should be easy for everyone to play.

Aww, well, I'm sorry the trip to Tachikawa was mostly a bust, then, though yay for camouflage manga?

I also bought Hanabi in Japanese and that Himo/Trains thing. And a Japanese Dominion tray. Still sad I didn't buy Machikoro when I had the chance, but I would have had NO room for it.

OT, on manga: I had to laugh at the reactions I got both times I had to pull a few volumes of manga out of my bags to make room. At the airport, extracting about five volumes so I could get my big bag down to 32kg: flight check agent and baggage handler - "Sugoi~!" On the second leg of my flight, pulling manga out of the outside pockets of my carry on, so it would be thin enough to fit in overhead bin: nice guy who was helping me wrangle my bag - "No wonder it's heavy, you've got the Library of Congress in there."

Good thing no one wanted to take a close look at the covers...

Since I won't remember to put it in my trip report: I'm really disappointed we never played that open hand of Hanabi. (In happier news, I was able to lift my carry-on into the overhead bin myself. I think it was like getting to my feet so rapidly in line on day 2 of Comiket: desperation lent me strength.)

I managed on my first flight, but not my second (third flight was tiny plane requiring planeside check, yay). Not sure if it was because the overhead bins were lower on the first plane or I was more tired by the second flight, or both.

I also bought Hanabi in Japanese and that Himo/Trains thing.

Thanks! I'll update with those. (We'll have to play Hanabi for GenCon.)
