Sense of accomplishment

I had my first English club meeting today. Luckily, this time I was given some direction: the English club is supposed to give a 10 minute performance at an English seminar next month, then again (the same performance) at a "creative" event the school is having. (On a related note, I'm supposed to give a 20 minute speech on "Living in Japan" at the seminar.) The easiest thing for the students to do is sing/dance in English. After much debate, they decided upon three songs (two from Disney movies) that they want to sing.After I got home, I put the finishing touches on my first project using my Japanese sewing machine. You can't really tell from the picture, but there are four buttons on the shirt, which I'm relatively proud of, since figuring out how to make the buttonholes was an adventure. I'm rather pleased with how it turned out, for a first try.

Date: 2004-10-07 02:38 pm (UTC)I had actually hoped to pick a fabric design with a bit less of the pink flowers and butterflies and such, but the store didn't have enough of the bold blue or black designs I wanted. I figured teal was my next best option.
I think tomorrow I may try going to Otsu again to check out the craft store there...unless it's typhooning again.
