All of the cabinets have been installed in the kitchen now. The east wall is waiting for the stove to be installed, and the north wall still needs a refrigerator. The bamboo countertop will be cut to shape this weekend, and I'm working on hiring a stone fabricator to cut the granite countertop for the smaller baking nook to the right of the stove.

There will still be a bit of a delay, since the countertop still needs to have a finish applied, which will probably take several days. Once that's in place, though, all the appliances and under-cabinet lights can be hooked up.

My harvest of beans for my variety trial continues. I've also made a few attempts at hand-hybridizing several of the flowers, just to see how well it works. (It is not easy to do with long fingernails, I'll tell you that.) It's pretty late in the season for a lot of them, but some are still flowering, particularly the pole beans.

The other exciting thing happening in the garden is that my first apples are about ready to be picked. In fact, I've already eaten some that got knocked off this past week, and they weren't bad at all.
