Alien Uprising
Status: Funded
In this science fiction-themed game, players work together to repair their spaceship before they are overwhelmed with hostile alien creatures. I was interested because it is cooperative, but it appears to be a "tower defense" type of game (like Castle Panic), and that's not really my thing. Also, it uses a lot of dice, and that's not particularly a favorite mechanic of mine.

This is a tile-laying game in which the "tiles" are actually dice that are stacked to form three-dimensional shapes to earn points. I think the idea is really clever. I'm just not sure I'd want to pay $40 for what is essentially a set of 80 dice.

In this game, players compete using cards illustrated with a Japanese mythology theme. I was intrigued by the theme, but unfortunately I find the art hideous. Also, the game is constantly compared to poker, and I detest poker. To top it off, it's a player elimination game. No, thank you.

I think the artist did a nice, atmospheric job with the background scenery, but the living creatures strike me as ugly.
