Rain, rain, go away

spacealien_vampI had a light day Friday, since my two afternoon classes were canceled due to orientation for the second-year students, who are taking a class trip to Korea next week. The exchange student from Hawaii is going with them, and her main concern is that she doesn't like spicy food. She's planning on taking along a big load of snacks so she won't go hungry.
It rained nearly all day yesterday (which made my moat rather more impressive than its usual trickle). Today typhoon #22 is supposed to hit, so more rain is expected today and tomorrow. I had planned to go shopping in Otsu...the typhoon isn't supposed to be directly over Shiga until later this evening, so maybe if I go early it won't be so bad.
