I'll gladly pay you Tuesday...

I'm relieved that the shutdown is over (at least for now). I ended up missing two paychecks, though we're being assured that the back pay should get to us by Thursday.

One of my neighbors gifted me and my parents with a session at a "paint and sip" event, and we went Sunday afternoon. It was a nice experience. They used acrylic paints, which was new for me, since I'm accustomed to painting with watercolors. I think my painting came out quite well, and for the time being I have it displayed on a shelf in my game room.

After the event, we had some neighbors over for a game and pizza night. I just barely have enough space in the house to host a moderate gathering of people. We managed to get in two full games, which is pretty good considering there were 3 young children in attendance.

The weather has warmed up a bit this past week. My ume tree is already in full bloom. Spring gardening season is just around the corner.
