A stitch in time
Feb. 27th, 2018 05:37 amThe weather has been really crazy here this month. The first couple weeks, we were having record high temperatures. Many of the fruit trees started blooming. Then last week we got hit with a blast of abnormally cold weather, bringing temperatures down into the 30s at night. I'm hoping that the fruit tree flowers aren't damaged too badly by the cold.
My dad finished putting up my new front door, so now I have a pretty prism glass window to look through and see visitors. It's fun to see little rainbows cast on the floor when the sun shines through it.
I finished knitting socks for my dad. My mom liked the design and requested a matching pair, so that will be my next project after I finish a birthday present for my niece.
This past weekend,
megoryb and I attended Stitches West, a yarn arts convention nearby. It was held at the same convention center as YaoiCon, but it was far bigger. We were wandering the vendor hall from 11am to 5:30pm, and we barely got through everything; we had to rush toward the end. I came back with a huge pile of yarn and other supplies.
megoryb got me a yarn swift as an early birthday present to help me wind all this yarn into balls before I use it.
We made all our reservations for our trip to Europe and Japan this summer, and we have another short trip to San Diego for sightseeing coming up in a few weeks. It should be an interesting time.
