A weighty matter
Feb. 8th, 2015 05:53 amThis weekend, the rain finally returned. That's great for the plants, but it meant I didn't get any yard work done. Instead, I stayed inside and weighed all of my dry beans from last year's variety trial so that I could finish putting together my results web page.
2014 Bean Variety Trial
The other thing I did this week was arrange to have my mortgage refinanced down to a 15-year loan at a lower interest rate. I've been overpaying by hundreds of dollars every month, trying to whittle away at the principal. With the new rate, I should be able to pay less every month and still get the whole thing paid off years sooner. Win-win.
For supper last night, I cleaned and chopped two bunches of kale to add to my meal. I turned one bunch into chips, which came out okay, though I did add too much salt. I dropped the second bunch into a pot of Christmas lima beans, which worked pretty well.
