When it's 4:30am...
Jul. 4th, 2006 10:53 am...and it's already 80 degrees, you know summer has arrived.
I tend to wake up early in the summer, because the sun comes up early and there are some really noisy birds outside my window. Plus it's the coolest time of day...even though that doesn't necessarily mean it's actually cool.
At school, the students are visibly wilting from the heat. There is no air conditioning, except in the computer lab, though some of the rooms just got fans for the first time yesterday. The girls are constantly being scolded for wearing their gym shorts instead of their skirts.
This is the last full week of classes before the seniors take their semester-end exams. The underclassmen won't have their exams until we come back in September.
Last weekend, I made an emergency trip to the Kyoto flea market to buy a batch of kimono supplies for someone. I managed to deliver the load last night, though lugging it all on the train and two subways was quite an experience. It's a good thing I've trained with loads of manga. We went out for dinner afterward at an Indian restaurant.
