Acronyms keep coming out of the woodwork

Okay, making up new acronyms I can understand, but when people start using an already established acronym in a different way, that just messes with my head. I've been noticing people using ETA in ways completely inconsistent with Estimated Time of Arrival, so I had to go look it up.

While I was at it, I decided to look up GIP, since I've been seeing that all over the place as well. I was assuming it meant something along the lines of Go In Peace, but even so, that seemed a bit off. Here are some selected results of the search:

My creek actually looks respectable today

School wound up being canceled at noon today due to strong winds from Lizard. Ordinarily, I would have had to stay longer, but the other teachers had a conference at one o'clock so they shooed me home. I guess that means I have the rest of the afternoon to work on some crafts.

One incident I forgot to mention yesterday... A home ec teacher invited me to come watch her class. She then explained that the students would be cleaning and cooking fish. ^_^; I was rather glad I was teaching that period and could use that as an excuse not to go. It's really nice of her to think of inviting me...but couldn't it be for the cookie-baking lesson?
