The problem is, I was trying to take pictures of things on the stage in an otherwise dark gymnasium. I had to set it for candle mode to get anything to really show up at all, and that means it had to process every picture.
What did it mean?
As far as I could tell, it was just some random exclamation. Sometimes it was used for distress, other times excitement. Kind of like "Whoa!" I suppose.
Were all the made up words stolen from Japanese, or was it just a coincidence?
I think it was just coincidence. There were a bunch of other words (for made-up animals and such) that didn't ring any bells for me.
However, I'm currently reading a book that uses the word "cha'a" to represent a stimulant drink that I'm assuming is supposed to be the equivalent of coffee. I can't help imagining it as green tea instead.
